THE CC OWNER REGISTRY 72 - 76

Some new & useful info about the registry:
I spend hours on the internet tracking down 124 coupes world wide. I have seen so many cars in forums, blogs and in for sale ads!. I find it hard to believe what is accounted for in registry indicates the true surviving coupes world wide. I predict there are at least easily a 1000 cars still alive not listed here or the Italian registry!

113 CC Coupes in Registry
Please assist us in registering all the surviving 124 Sport Coupes. By doing so allows us a better chance at preserving them through owner communication. If you know of any other Coupe owners, would you be kind enough to pass on the URL of the site. Please email coupes@fiat124sportcoupe.com the following information about your Coupe:
NEW FEATURE: Where you read “pictures” “video” or any word or phrase underlined within the registry, this is a hyperlink to view the various media content concerning that coupe.
PLEASE NOTE: In 1972 Fiat was still producing the BC when the new CC was introduced on the market. So for a 1972 year production coupe you will see both BC & CC in some countries. Going by the chassie numbers in the Italian coupe registry the 72 year production CC starts at around the 208000 and ends around the 216000 mark. The 73 year production number ends around the 249000 mark. 74 year production ends around the 268000 mark. 75 year production ends 281000. Untill I get documentation and true facts, the registry will stay this way "unofficial"
ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE: There are 33 CC coupes in the Italian registry that are not listed below

I built this car over the course of 4 years hopping to rally race it but must sell now. Car was built from an accident free example with little rust and was painted 3 years ago, The floor pan and rockers panels are very clean. In order to make this coupe as light and competitive as possible, the interior was completely gutted and the heavy chrome bumpers were removed, giving the profile a slippery and unfussy look. NACA style air duct was fabricated in metal and installed in the hood. Magnesium CD3 Cromodoras with new Falkens mounted. The 1800 Engine is a stock rebuild with a Weber 34adf performance carb and headers. Car is lowered with Cibie lighting and custom fabricated 10 point roll cage installed. Pictures |

2-owner, blue plate California car still with the factory pale green color. The original owner kept it in storage since 1980, and has since performed a timing belt, water pump, carb rebuild, all new brakes, and more on the way to making it a runner. The shut lines at the front of the hood, around the doors, and around the trunk lid are all very uniform and well-aligned. The car does have some rust bubbling on the lower door edges and around the window trim. There is also a slight scar in the paint on the left rear quarter as shown above and detailed in the photo album. The chrome bumpers and trim are in very good condition. The dash and interior are in very good shape, aside from torn front seat covers. The dash looks crack-free and is all stock down the working factory radio. Recent work performed on the car were , rebuilt carb (the secondary diaphragm is torn unable to find a replacement) ,Drive belt, All new brakes (brembo rotors, SS lines, Axiss pads, rebuilt calipers, M/C) ,Rebuilt rear suspension with new bushings and shocks, Cleaned fuel tank and new filler hose,Resealed and inspected transmission (all synchros work well, clutch looked new),Rebuilt drive line (u-joints and guibo),Re-sealed rear axle,

This coupe has been in New Zealand all its life. I have had the car for a few months. It is un-restored because there is very little work that needs to be done to it. It is in an original condition and has probably travelled about 140,000 miles. The engine is 1800 CC. There are no modifications to the car. Straight, original and a lot of fun. The car is stored but I drive it once every week or two. The car has always been located in an area with a dry climate so, believe it or not, rust is not a problem.

This car in suprisingly good condition for its age. I purchased it from a friends father who had it for the last 10 years. It shared its heated garage with 2 other itallian supercars which is why the bodywork isnt too bad for a 37 year old fiat Prior to him owning it I am told it had a major restoration by an italian car specialist in London (Lombarda) It has been a memeber of the twin cam register for large part if its life Engine has good compression, good oil pressure and sounds and performs well. Bodywork is fairly good condition for age due to it being garaged all its life.. |

This coupe was 100% bone stock when I bought it. Unfortunately it suffered an accident some 10 years ago and basically sat in the same spot all that time. This coupe was going to become most likely a strip down for parts BUT I saved it from that fait. It was still with the original factory paint ( pee green, puke!) Before touching it, the car had absolutely not a spec of rust. I repaired both damaged rear fenders and totally changed the colour. Also installed a vinyl roof. I custom made the rear side window latches. Car is still bone stock engine wise and appears to have never been opened. Being it travelled low kms, the mechanicals are PERFECT and I had to do absolutely nothing but just change the timing belt for safety! Also changed all the fluids, naturally. The interior is 95% flawless. Enjoy the pictures |

Registered in Pretoria on the 30th of September 1974. I think the cars where brought here in semi-kit form and assembled here for import duty sake. Until recently South Africa had a 200% import duty on cars not manufactured in the counrty. My car was orginally a rusty red but was repainted by a previous owner in a very dark blue (very similar to a period Alfa Romeo colour) She (Cappucine) still has her original white vinyl seats and factory fitted cromodoro alloys. Although she lives in a dry climate now she stayed at the sea a while and picked up some rust on the inside of her boot lid. I have fitted her with a period hitachi 8 track player, alas, I only have The Monkeys, Donovan and Sonny and Cher 8 track casettes to listen to.
